Creepy Critters

Wrote the HTML and CSS for this (winning?) page in 24 hours as part of the CSS Off competition. The challenge is to write clean, accessible code from scratch, using the given .psd. This particular competition also called for the use of microformats.

This firm had a pretty clear idea of the look they wanted for their site. They sent rough sketches from which I tailored my design. The client wished to have a single page that changed dynamically with user interaction, in order to keep a clear focus on the site's purpose: to display the company's portfolio. Though the site uses extensive Javascript, it is still designed to be viewable by users with Javascript disabled.

This young actor needed a re-vamp of his current site, and wanted future changes to be made quickly and inexpensively. I explained the value of CSS for fast editing and search engine indexability. Though I had nothing to do with the aesthetic design of the site, I helped the client make his site function much more seamlessly by completely re-writing the code.

cookieheadcookies.com

I was sent completed layout ideas in the form of jpegs for this site. I translated the jpegs into fully-functioning, standards-compliant design using CSS (and a few simple flash animations). The site also allows for secure purchases online.

This client was looking for a simple, fun website that he could update himself in order to keep fans apprised of happenings with his band. Using XHTML for markup and CSS, I created this easily-updateable website. The client also wanted fans to be able to listen to his music, so I designed an original mp3 player using Actionscript 3.0 and Flash.

The band Bellawatt's website was my first attempt at standards-compliant code. The band's site had recently been published, but took a very long time to load, used tables for layout and did not display properly in Internet Explorer 6 (surprise!). Using the site's previous design, I wrote the code from scratch using CSS and XHTML.
